Premier League Club Cuts Ties with Kanye West Famous Song After Rapper’s Controversial Comments. Premier League outfit Bournemouth has decided to no longer use the famous Kanye West song “Power” as their walk-on music for their team.
Teams in English top flight are known for playing renowned songs when the team makes their way to or exits a stadium.
Bournemouth is no exception, as the team has been using “Power” as their theme song since 2020.
But this is set to change and according to The Mirror, the club wants to sever ties with Kanye, who is now officially recognized by the name Ye.
This comes after Ye posted a tweet that caused controversy and offended millions.
His tweet read:
“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
This single tweet has seen the rapper lose billions in endorsements as brands continue to dissociate from him.
Bournemouth, as TMZ reports, is also set to follow suit by shelving the song Power, which was first used by the club when they were relegated from the Premier League in 2020.
Concerns have reportedly been raised about usage of the song, released in 2010, after Ye’s recent tweet.

Sportswear giant Adidas also announced earlier this week that they were cutting ties with Ye because the company does “not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech”.
Ye’s ex-wife and one of the most followed people on social media Kim Kardashian also denounced the rapper’s sentiments, saying:
“Hate speech is never OK or excusable. I stand together with the Jewish community and call on the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end.”

Elsewhere, Dailysportvibes also reported Boston Celtics point guard Jaylen Brown has terminated his contract with Kanye West’s agency Donda Sports.
“I have always, and will always, continue to stand strongly against anti-Semitism, hate speech, misrepresentation and oppressive rhetoric of any kind,” he said in a statement.
Joining Brown was American Football defensive lineman Aaron Donald, who also parted ways with Donda Sports recently.
