Gregor Kobel and Marco Reus to Miss Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League Encounter and Bayern Munich Fixture. When Borussia Dortmund travels to Spain to play struggling Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League, it will be challenging.

While in Spain with his Borussia Dortmund teammates, Gregor Kobel didn’t take part in any workouts.

Although Marco Reus is getting closer to a comeback, he will not play in the Bundesliga matchup against Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund will be without two crucial players for their UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla.

At the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, both captain Marco Reus and goalkeeper Gregor Kobel are anticipated to be out.

According to Bulinews, there were expectations that Kobel would play because he traveled to Spain with the club.

However, the keeper missed out on Dortmund’s final training session before the game, effectively ruling him out of the clash.

Dortmund are hoping that Kobel will be fit in time for their next Bundesliga clash when they take on Bayern Munich this coming weekend. Reus, who injured his ankle ligaments during Dortmund’s game against Schalke 04, is also nearing a return but out of action for the time being.

Dortmund have been plagued by injuries this year. In April, they were without six players before a game against Bayern Munich, with Kobel and Reus also among those side-lined.

The Black and Yellow are currently fourth on the Bundesliga table, one place behind Bayern Munich, though only because of goal difference. They are in second place in Group G of the Champions League, three points behind Manchester City and two points above both Sevilla and Copenhagen.

In other injury news, Sports Brief reported that Marco Reus’ hopes of playing for Germany at the FIFA World Cup have been boosted.

The player’s participation at the tournament in Qatar was in doubt after he was stretched off during Borussia Dortmund’s game against Schalke 04.

Reus had to be taken off on a stretcher in the 32nd minute of the game after he collapsed to the ground clutching his ankle.
